SimpliMath: Status

1-4-2002 11:53: Well, it's been a while since anybody's updated this page. Simplicalc development is still moving along, and I should be done with the rewrite soon. I'll refrain from giving estimates, because of how my last estimate completely failed to happen. It's nearly finished, but has not been tested at all. When it has been tested, and appears to work (hopefully with less issues than we experienced in previous versions), i'll release it. Until then, thank you for your patience.

11-26-2001 16:43: I thought i should let everybody know that we aren't dead .. we've just been busy with this OO rewrite of simplicalc. I think we decided that it would be easier if we waited until the rwrite was finished before trying to incorporate new developers. Thanks to all of you who have volunteered (and there's been a lot more volunteers than i would have thought :) We will try to get you all into Simplicalc development after the rewrite (which should be done relatively early in December - i'll have more free time). If you have a feature request that you think would be easiest if kept in mind during the rewrite, or have a great idea as to how the OO rewrite should be implemented, GREAT, email me, and i'll see what i can do :)

11-18-2001 17:27: Yesterday and today I tested 0.21 a ton, and I only found a few minor bugs, fortunately. The 0.2x series is beginning to be MUCH more stable. I added some more error checking, although it is still inadequate. I implemented Readline suport, so now SimpliCalc functions much like BASH for input! In case you didn't guess, 0.22 is out! ;-)

11-17-2001 13:53: 0.21 is out! It is much more efficient, has some error checking, and has function support! Also, rounding is improved, so you should get the exactly correct answer in almost every case. Check the status page for the link! Hope you enjoy it!

11-10-2001 12:08: Ok, I should have updated this last night, but I had a friend over. I'm working on converting SimpliMath into a more Object-Oriented program. This should allow for greater flexibility, easier mantenance, and make it easier to add new features! I'll keep updating this page whenever I make progress.

11-9-2001 21:19: The status page is now up!  This space will be used to show everyone what's happening with SimpliMath!  Uhmmmm should add an update here tonight.  He is working on CLASSifying SimpliCalc.
